I have been as full as your beauty
since I met you.
Now this glowing with your rays
is all to me.
Let me be your moon.
Let me circle around your beauty
in awe of the honor of spinning.
Let me taste you like cream
from the top of sunlight's milk.
Let me feel your pull change
the rhythms of my inner tides.
Pull me in towards your deep
dry ocean of dreams.
Let me come to you
behind midnight clouds.
Let me see you in secrecy.
Do you sleep beneath those charcoal veils
or when you hide from prying eyes,
full in your newness?
Let me slip into that dark with you,
and sit by your side
and strain to feel the moonbeams
of your dreams.
Let me sing you to sleep,
for you have taught me to sing,
singing softly in those silent moments
alone with you, moon.
Let me come to you nightly, like a lover.
Let me read to you the poems
you have written on my heart.
Let me touch you, moon, that
I might know you are true.
Let your light stain my fingers
and remain in my blood.
